How the physics model works

The outlook is a day/night heat balance on your pool’s water mass. Each half-day we estimate energy gains and losses from:

  • Sun — shortwave solar into the water (reduced by shade and some covers)
  • Air & humidity — convection and evaporation (or condensation)
  • Wind — typical fenced-yard exposure (stronger wind cools open water faster)
  • Night sky / longwave — radiative cooling when the sky is clear
  • Rain — cooler storm water and surface mixing (covers intercept most drops)
  • Heater (Pro) — extra energy after weather losses, for hours/day or a set point
